The camel emblem for Hapoel Be’er Sheva was developed through a focused exploration of the club’s identity and the cultural symbolism connected to its supporters. The camel, a defining nickname of Be’er Sheva’s fanbase and a strong regional icon, served as the foundation for a mascot that reflects resilience, endurance, and the character of the Negev.
The goal was to create a figure that feels inherently “southern,” not just through color but through attitude and posture. The camel was designed in a forward-driven stance to convey momentum and determination, not a static pose, but one that carries the sense of a club and a city that push forward. The hammer and trident were introduced as dual-meaning elements: tools representing hard work, craft, and local grit, as well as symbols of a fighting spirit rooted in community identity.
The mountain-like base beneath the figure anchors the mascot in the desert landscape, making the emblem contextually tied to its geographic and cultural environment.
Visually, the mascot was constructed using a sharp, geometric style suited for modern football branding and highly adaptable across digital media, merchandise, and large-scale applications. The intention was to create a mark that is instantly recognizable, distinctly original within Israeli football, and authentic to the people and place it represents.
At its core, the project reflects the understanding that an emblem for Hapoel Be’er Sheva is more than a logo, it is a symbol of the city, the supporters, and the southern identity they share.
